Lake and Mountains
The Millstaetter See is one of the most beautiful lakes in all Carinthia. Its clear and silky water invites adults and children alike to go swimming or boating. Water temperatures in summer are pleasant at around 20° C. Its southern shores, easily accessible from Rothenthurn, are unspoiled and allow for wonderful views of the lake and the mountains. For those who prefer the bicycle, a 33 km cycle path has recently been completed and challenges you to tour at your own pace around the entire lake.

Culture
The International Music Weeks offer an impressive musical program with choir and orchestral works, as well as chamber music from all periods in the medieval abbz of Millstatt. Just as famous is the summer season of exquisite comedy performances set in the arcaded court yard of the Castle Porcia in Spittal.
